The website honors transformative figures including John McLendon, the first Black coach in professional basketball; Clarence “Big House” Gaines, who won 828 games at Winston-Salem State; John Thompson II, who led Georgetown to national prominence; and C. Vivian Stringer, a trailblazer in women’s basketball. Additional icons featured include John Chaney, Nolan Richardson, George Raveling, Tubby Smith, and Marian Washington.
